Program Introduction:
The foundation program at Yunnan Normal University adopts small class teaching method, which is divided into classes of different levels according to the students' Chinese proficiency. After a year of intensive training in Chinese and basic subjects, students who successfully pass the assessment can continue their undergraduate studies at Yunnan Normal University or other domestic universities.

Qualifications:
1. Non-Chinese nationals holding a valid passport and meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education’s Education Letter [2020] No. 12;
2. Good physical and mental health, good conduct and obey Chinese laws and regulations;
3. High school graduate or equivalent;
4. 18 -25 years old;
5. Sufficient financial security.
Application materials:
1. "Application Form for International Students at Yunnan Normal University" (fill in the form online at http://ynnu.at0086.cn/student, the form will be automatically generated);
2. Scanned copies of the passport photo page;
3. Chinese language students and foundation students must submit: (1) A scanned copy of the original, and notarized scanned copies of Chinese or English translations for materials that are not in Chinese or English;
(2) Graduating students should provide the expected graduation certificate when applying (the expected time to obtain the degree certificate should be earlier than August 31, 2022), and the graduation certificate, degree certificate and transcript must be submitted when registering;
4. Medical Examination Record for Foreigners;
5. Other awards or certificates;
6. Applicants who are under 18 years old must submit proof of entrustment signed by a legal guardian in China;
7. Proof of non-criminal record;
8. Proof of financial guarantee;
9. Applicants who current study at a registered school in China apply for YNNU should also provide:
1) The letter of transfer consent and transcript or certificate of graduation of the current institution stamped with the official seal;
2) Photocopy of visa or residence permit in China;
10. For current teachers or employees in China, you must provide the letter of expected termination of the employment contract from the employer.
Note:
1. The uploaded certificates, certificates, and transcripts must be original Chinese or English or notarized copies. For materials that are not in Chinese or English, the original and notarized Chinese or English translations must be uploaded at the same time;
2. Please scan with a scanner and upload relevant documents. Documents taken by mobile phones or cameras will not be accepted.
Application and Acceptance Process
1. Apply online: Applicants please visit the International Student Registration Website of YNNU at http://ynnu.at0086.cn/student to apply online, submit clear electronic materials, and send an email to ynhuawen@163.com to confirm after successful submission;
2. Check the status of the application online: Applicants can check the progress and status of the application through the application portal, please regularly check the system messages and your emails so as not to miss important notices;
3. Application results: YNNU reviews all the materials of the applicant and conducts interviews if necessary; applicants can check the admission results in the online application portal for international students of Yunnan Normal University http://ynnu.at0086.cn/student;
4. Registration: According to the school notice, please complete the registration within the specified time, and the specific registration time and process will be notified further.
