I. Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese nationals holding a valid passport, meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education’s Education Letter [2020] No. 12;

2. Good physical and mental health;

3. Bachelor’s diploma or equivalent;

4. HSK level 5, 180 or above;

5. 18 -35 years’ old;

6. Sufficient financial security.

II. Application Starting from:

 1st Jan to 10th June 2023 (Scholarship applicants shall refer to the scholarship procedures)

III. Application materials

1. Scanned of the passport photo page;

2. Bachelor’s degree diploma and certificate, transcript (non-Chinese and English materials require a notarized Chinese or English translation);

(1) A scanned copy of the original and notarized scanned copies of Chinese or English translations for materials that are not in Chinese or English;

(2) Fresh graduates should provide the expected graduation certificate when applying (the expected time to obtain the degree certificate should be earlier than August 31, 2023), and the graduation certificate, degree certificate and transcript must be submitted when registering;

3. Photocopy of HSK Level 5 result or above (Valid for two years);

4. Personal statement

5. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English)

6. Medical Examination Record for Foreigners (Valid for six months);

7. Non-criminal record (graduating students can submit a certificate of good performance in school)

8. Proof of financial sponsorship (bank certificate of deposit or proof of employment and income of the financial sponsor) is required for self-financing students.  

9. Other awards or certificates;

10. Applicants who are under 18 years old must submit proof of entrustment signed by a legal guardian in China;

11. Applicants who current study at a registered school in China apply for YNNU should also provide:

(1) The letter of transfer consent and transcript and graduate certificate of the current institution stamped with the official seal;

(2) Photocopy of visa or residence permit in China;

(3) For current teachers or employees in China, you must provide the letter of expected termination of the employment contract from the employer.

Note:

1. The uploaded certificates and transcripts must be original Chinese or English or notarized copies. For materials that are not in Chinese or English, the original and notarized Chinese or English translations must be uploaded at the same time;

2. Please scan with a scanner and upload relevant documents. Documents taken by mobile phones or cameras will not be accepted.

V. Application and Acceptance Process

1. Apply online: Applicants please visit the International Student Registration Website of YNNU at http://ynnu.at0086.cn/student to apply online, submit clear electronic materials, and send an email to ynhuawen@163.com to confirm after successful submission;

2. Check the status of the application online: Applicants can check the progress and status of the application through the application portal, please regularly check the system messages and your emails so as not to miss important notices;

3. Application results: YNNU reviews all the materials of the applicant and conducts interviews if necessary; applicants can check the admission results in the online application portal for international students of Yunnan Normal University http://ynnu.at0086.cn/student. The school expects to send out admission documents in July and August.

VI. Visa Application and Registration

1. Applicants should apply for a Study Visa (X1 visa) at the Chinese Embassy or consulate general in your country with your passport, Admission Notice, the JW202 form and the Medical Examination Record for Foreigners and other related documents.

2. Applicants should come to our university to register before the date written on the Admission Notice. New students must bring their original degree certificates for the university to review their admission qualifications. Those who do not meet the admission requirements will be disqualified.

1. Registration fees: CNY ¥250 (exempt for scholarships students)

2. Tuition：arts CNY ¥17,000/ academic year; sciences CNY ¥18,500/ academic year;

3. Accommodation fees: 1800 yuan/person/year (3persons room), 2700 yuan/person/year (2 persons room)；

4. Visa application fees: 400 yuan

5. Medical examination fees: 500 yuan/person

6. Insurance fees: 800 yuan/person/year
